MUMBAI: Not many actors, national or international, can claim to have their 63rd year as one of the most successful in their career. But for Amitabh Bachchan, 2005 has been an extraordinarily successful yearhe featured prominently in four of the biggest grossers of the year,
Bunty Aur Babli,
Black, Sarkar and
Waqt. His home production
Viruddh too brought him applause and was a commission earner at the box office despite being severely hit by the floods that hit Mumbai in its release week.
But the actor is hardly one to sit back and enjoy the success, even on his birthday. He is slated to bring in his 64th on Monday night at an album release function hosted by choreographer Vaibhavi Merchant who choreographed Amitabh and Abhishek in the hit number
Kajrare. And that will probably be the only public appearance the star will make on his birthdaythere will be a private party after the event to celebrate.
"On his birthday on October 11, the actor will be shooting for KBC," said a source. Later, he will be leaving for New York with his son Abhishek to join the crew of
Kabhi Alvida Naa Kehna.
The last few years, October 11 has seen some big announcements from the Bachchans. In 2002, it was the day son Abhisheks short-lived engagement was made public and in 2003 Bachchan announced the revival of AB Corp.
